Nederlandse Basisclassificatie

"De Nederlandse basisclassificatie (NBC) is een van oorsprong Nederlands bibliotheek classificatie-schema speciaal ontwikkeld voor wetenschappelijke bibliotheken. Deze classificatie is eind 80-er jaren ontwikkeld onder leiding van de Koninklijke Bibliotheek (Nederland), in gebruik sinds 1990 en wordt sindsdien bijgewerkt.

"The Dutch Basic Classification (NBC) is originally a Dutch library classification scheme developed for academic libraries. This rating is late 80's developed under the leadership of the Royal Library (Netherlands), in use since 1990 and has since been updated.

Schema voor de Indeling van de Systematische Catalogus in Openbare Bibliotheken

"SISO is een numeriek systeem dat de informatieve media in uw bibliotheek naar onderwerp indeelt. SISO is de basis voor de systematische catalogus en wordt gebruikt als plaatsingssyteem. Zo maakt SISO uw bibliotheekcollectie toegankelijk en vinden uw bezoekers makkelijk de weg in uw bibliotheek. SISO is gebaseerd op een logische en universele indeling van de wetenschappen. Alle wetenschappen zijn verdeeld in nummers en hiërarchisch geordend. Hoofdrubrieken worden onderverdeeld in onderrubrieken, deelrubrieken, kleine rubrieken en bijrubrieken.

World Register of Marine Species

"The aim of a World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) is to provide an authoritative and comprehensive list of names of marine organisms, including information on synonymy. While highest priority goes to valid names, other names in use are included so that this register can serve as a guide to interpret taxonomic literature. The content of WoRMS is controlled by taxonomic experts, not by database managers.

PRODCOM List

"PRODCOM is the title of the EU production statistics for Mining, Quarrying and Manufacturing, i.e. Sections B and C of the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community (NACE Rev. 2). The title comes from the French 'PRODuction COMmunautaire' (Community production). The headings of the PRODCOM list are derived from the Harmonized System (HS) or the Combined Nomenclature (CN), which thus enables comparisons to be made between production statistics and foreign trade statistics.

Multilingual Classification of European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations

"ESCO identifies and categorises skills/competences, qualifications and occupations relevant for the EU labour market and education and training, in 22 European languages. It provides occupational profiles showing which competences and qualifications are relevant for an occupation. ESCO is developed in an open IT format that can be used by third parties' software. It can be accessed through the ESCO portal and is available free of charge to everyone."

"ICPC (International Classification of Primary Care) is a clinical coding system. The first version of ICPC published in 1987 is referred to as ICPC-1. The version in the 1993 publication “The International Classification of Primary Care in the European Community: With a Multi-Language Layer” is known as ICPC-1. The second version from 1998 is referred to as ICPC-2. ICPC-2e is an electronic version from year 2000 of the revised and corrected chapters 10 and 11 of the ICPC-2 book.

United Nations Standard Products and Services Code

International Patent Classification

"The International Patent Classification (IPC), established by the Strasbourg Agreement 1971, provides for a hierarchical system of language independent symbols for the classification of patents and utility models according to the different areas of technology to which they pertain.
The IPC divides technology into eight sections with approximately 70,000 subdivisions. Each subdivision has a symbol consisting of Arabic numerals and letters of the Latin alphabet.
